Most nonprofits that offer supportive services constantly struggle to raise funds for operational expenses. One local nonprofit, Connections of Cumberland County, took the basic concept of student internships and created a fresh approach with a mutually beneficial arrangement.

The founders of Connections had a vision of creating a day resource center for homeless women and children that offered goal-based intensive case management with strong accountability. Now in its second year of operation, the walk-in (with no referral required) center offers all its services to women and children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness at no cost to the clients.  Click to read more at:
